On Monday, May 5th 2008 I FINALLY asked Kate to marry me and she said YES!! We were both down in Tampa, FL on vacation visiting Kate’s Family when it occurred. It was an absolutely amazing and special moment for the two of us. We are now in the Wedding Planning process and will let everyone know details once a date has been finalized. We share this special moment with all of our family and friends so that everyone can CELEBRATE with us. Below are a couple pictures from the last couple of days. I AM ONE LUCKY MAN!!!
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!! After an absolutely crazy trip to the NCAA DIV III WOMEN’S FINAL FOUR we flew back early Sunday morning to celebrate Easter with Kate and her family. Everyone gathered at Tom and Dillia’s house and we had a wonderful time with everyone. All the kids got to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt which was such a thrill. Now everyone keeps on asking me what happened this year with the Traditional Horanburg Easter Egg Battle?? Well, we have decided not to declare a winner this year and 2008 on the Egg Trophy will be kept blank. Looking forward to reclaiming my title in 2009!!!

Well they don’t call it MARCH MADNESS for nothing. We are so proud of our soon to be new addition to the HORANBURG family – Nikki Lobach (Reed’s Fiancee). Nikki and the Messiah College Women’s Basketball Team started NCAA Tournament play 2 weeks ago and after 4 amazing victories in a row they are on their way to the DIVISION III NCAA – FINAL FOUR. The Final Four is taking place next weekend in Holland, Michigan @ Hope College. The entire Horanburg Family Reed, Rick, Laurie, Ryan & Kate will all be traveling up for the games to cheer Nikki on. Below is a video of the local News Story that ran after the victory. If you pause the video around the 25 second mark you may notice a familiar fan in the stand waving a towel. We’ll post more pictures of the games soon. Please keep Nikki and the entire Messiah Women’s Basketball Team in your prayers!!

Happy 3rd Birthday David Caballero. He is the BIG 3 YEARS OLD!! We celebrated his birthday this weekend with family and was blessed with some wonderful weather for everyone to enjoy outside.

Rosemay Kate Eckman was born Wednesday, March 12th, at 1:56PM, weighing 8lbs 6oz and 21 inches long!! Kate’s sister, Anne, had Rosie Kate, the 13th Caballero grandchild–Wow!! She is definitely a cutie! This has been quite a week. I was able to help Mrs. Caballero take care of Anne’s other two children, Elizabeth and John, while Colin and Anne were at the hospital having little Rosie.

It’s February 14th, 2008 and I’d like to wish EVERYONE a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. Today is one of Kate’s favorite days. Buddy, I look forward to making you smile EVERY DAY, not just on Valentines Day. Looking forward to a special lunch, and spending time together this evening. MUAHHHHHHH!! Last year for Valentines Day I put together a video for Kate (Click Here to View). Kate enjoyed it, but somehow it got passed around to family members, co-workers, and friends. Well after several questions about if there would be another video….without further ado I present to you VALENTINES DAY 2008. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY KATE!!!
Today is Kate’s niece Elizabeth’s Birthday. She is the BIG 3 YEARS OLD!! We celebrated her birthday this weekend with family and had a great time watching her really enjoy her party – party hats and all! Every gift she opened she loved, but the BIKE from her mom and dad was definitely the highlight of her Birthday!

This year’s Christmas was spent in SUNNY FLORIDA, yep, shorts all week, with the Caballero clan. We enjoyed so much delicious food- meat pies, cuban sandwiches, puerco asado, black beans, yellow rice, italian sausage, pasta carbonara, Leroy Selmon’s Nachos, CRAZY BREAD and of course, Chick-Fil-A milkshakes!! Anyway, we also enjoyed some really GREAT company. Eight of the Ten Caballero children were in Tampa during the Christmastime, and include spouses and children, and that’s a FAMILY REUNION of sorts! We picked fresh oranges from the tree outside, played tennis with the brothers, shopped, played the Wii, Pokeno, and of course, just delighted in being together! And Noche Buena (Christmas Eve), well, lets just say it was a very eventful night!! It was definitely a wonderful and special time. Then, after enjoying all the beautiful sunshine, we headed back to the cold wintery mid-atlantic for Christmas with the Horanburgs. Reed and Nikki came down from PA, and we surprised mom and dad with a GPS. We also enjoyed some good ‘ole fashion Pictionary, and accompanying Reed and Nikki while they registered. We of course enjoyed our time we had back here in NOVA as well!! We are very blessed with so many wonderful family and friends and had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

On January 5th, 2008 we got to share a special day with a wonderful friend of ours, Matt Peitzman. Congratulations to the entire Peitzman Family and most importantly the new Mr. and Mrs. Peitzman (Matt and Jenna).
